Kevin Gassman was born in Encino, Ca., giving him bragging rights as a real “Encino Man.” He grew up in Northridge, a suburb of Los Angeles in the San Fernando Valley. His interest in radio began as a child while listening to Dr. Demento every Sunday night. If you didn’t know the “Funny 5” the next morning, then you weren’t “in.”

After high school, Kevin transferred his college credits to New Mexico State University for a degree in Professional Golf Management. He soon changed degrees to enter into the exciting world of broadcasting where he earned his BA in Broadcast Journalism.

Immediately after graduation, he landed his first job as a TV photojournalist for KDBC, a CBS affiliate in El Paso, TX.. The next year, Kevin moved over to radio on KXDA in Las Cruces, NM. doing overnights, before being promoted to nights. After a very rewarding stint in Las Cruces, he was given an offer he couldn’t refuse in Phoenix, AZ, at KMVP, an ESPN affiliate. That opportunity led him to running the number one show in the city, The Sports Grill, with Dave Burns and Ron Woofley. Shortly after, he was given the opportunity to host his first show, “Hockey Night in Phoenix.” Kevin’s co-host was Stanley Cup winner Brent Severyn who called-in from Dallas, TX..

Next was KXAM 1010AM where he began “That Sports Show with Those Guys,” a lighthearted look at the world of sports with local comedians.

Kevin then moved on to host mornings on All Comedy Radio 1480AM and produced the Danny Bonnaduci show.

One of his greatest creations is his show, “Driving With Gass, Man.” It aired for 10 years and featured independent artists both locally and nationally. The show specialized in live remotes at venues across Phoenix and the Southwest..

Kevin also hosted a live internet show every Saturday afternoon about music comedy and life called, “Going Global With Gass, Man!”  It aired on the “Voice America Talk Radio Network.”

His most recent adventure is “The Mothership Radio Show,” a weekly program about the strange and unusual.
